Today is a big day! We are releasing the first tease of a few pieces of art from our upcoming Crypto Hash Geeks series, but before we get to that we wanted to explain what our driving force behind this series was.

My brother Ed and I have been in the crypto space since late 2012. We’ve seen a lot of skepticism and met some incredible people. We’ve watched as the mainstream media and financial sector laughed off Bitcoin, Ethereum and now NFTs, and were intrigued by the many figures who have garnered fame and fortune from the space. A few months ago I began collecting NFTs myself, but felt that something was missing. I recall collecting Garbage Pail Kids cards when I was a youngster and I also felt there was a lack of recognition within the NFT space for the figures, both good and bad, who paved the way for Bitcoin, Crypto and eventually NFTs themselves.
One night I woke up at 2 A.M. with the idea. Via the blockchain we could immortalize, forever, the people who dared to break the norms and push the crypto space forward, while also mimicking the humor, comical abnormality, and retro feel of the Garbage Pail Kids. We could make a limited 3-tier collectible series that would forever reside on the blockchain. The next morning I called Ed, and we decided that our old high school buddy, Michael Mansueto would be the perfect collaborator for the project. Mike was known for his work on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (2015), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) and Man of Steel (2013), and would be the perfect artist to make our ideas come to life. Mike had been looking for work, recently laid off, and was one of the best people we knew. Crypto Hash Geeks was born!
Our animated trading card series will kick off with a “Genesis” piece previewing the creation, followed by a series of trading cards, in 3 separate tiers — Gold, Silver and Bronze.
